Catherine Ford was born Bloomsbury in London. Since her father had left, the Ford family was looked after by her mother, grandmother as well as godparents. As a young girl, she struggled with an obsessional disorder. She also experienced anxiety due to the word"association. Ford was fascinated by acting during her teenage years she joined the National Youth Theatre. She was accepted to the Sylvia Young Theatre School. But after just one week she decided it wasn't for her. Ford reapplied for admission to the Central School of Speech and Drama and, on her fourth attempt she was eventually admitted. Shaun Dingwall played Pete Tyler on Doctor Who. Ford graduated in 1993. She made her television debut in a 1992 episode of Surgical Spirit. She adopted the name Catherine Tate. Tate first appeared on television in the year 1991, appearing on shows like The Bill. Men Behaving Badly. and London's Burning. Also, she was a regular performer in theatres, before eventually becoming a member of with the Royal Shakespeare Company for its 2000-2001 season. Tate received recognition for her comedy stand-up and has been added to her portfolio in 1996.
